Windows 12 Lite instead of Windows 10: attempted fraud with Linux operating system

A questionable offer under the name »Windows 12 Lite« promises an operating system without viruses, which is supposed to be three times faster than Windows 10.

In addition to the version as an installation DVD, the so-called »Windows 12 Lite« is also available on prepared USB sticks according to the appropriate website, but you should generally avoid the corresponding offers.

A Reddit user came across a strange attempt at fraud at a local computer fair: There was a Linux operating system called “Windows 12 Lite”, paired with a list of supposed advantages over Windows 10.

We warn against buying this dubious offer. Because this not only violates Microsoft’s copyrights, but also makes false promises:

  • one is “immune” to viruses and ransomware
  • the operating system is “more than three times as fast as Windows 10”
  • failing updates would no longer force the user to “buy more Windows 10”

In addition, Windows 12 Lite is “ideal for gamers” – after all, there is a link to Steam in the start menu and there are suitable drivers from “Nvidea” (correctly it is called “Nvidia”).

Linux Lite 4.8 as a base

With the right background image and a kind of start menu, Linux Lite is reminiscent of Windows 10 at first glance, but the fundamental differences between the operating systems are of course retained.

The basis of many of the advertised advantages is probably the fact that it is a Linux operating system, more precisely download windows 12 lite

Users who switch from Windows to Linux are likely to do so frequently from some of the aspects that the advertisement for “Windows 12 Lite” addresses. However, it often goes too far, for example when people speak of immunity to viruses.

The legal violations associated with a sale as “Windows 12 Lite” are even more serious. We do not know whether Microsoft has already taken appropriate steps against this.
